Our Story

I have always had a passion for creativity and a love of southern charm topped off with a touch of sarcasm! I’ve often reflected as to why that is. I found that I owe it to my journey and what led me to Boca Raton, Fl where I’d meet my husband and begin our family. My journey began in 1975, growing up in Upstate New York with my parents Jim & Kathy and my brother Trevor – doesn’t sound too Southern does it? Western New York was certainly far from southern but there’s a story my mother always told, in just the best southern accent ever, and it has stuck with me through the years. This story was the inspiration behind my business name and my signature items “How Nice” and certainly this icing on the cake during this time - year 2020.

Two older southern women recently rekindle a friendship after many, many years. They decide to meet for tea and discuss their lives. The first older lady, starts telling the second about all the wonderful things her husband has done for her over her life. “See this big ol ring right here on my finger? My husband bought me that, because he loves me.” Second lady, “Well how nice.” First lady, “See that big ol nice car out there? My husband bought me that, because he loves me” Second lady, “Well how nice.” First lady pulls out her phone and starts showing the other pictures of her house. “See this big ol house right here? My husband bought me that, because he loves me.” Second lady, “Well how nice.” First lady, “Well now, I’ve been going on and on about my husband, what has yours done for you?” Second lady, “Well my husband sent me to etiquette lessons.” First lady, incredulous, “Now why would he do something like that?” Second lady, “So I’d learn to say things like ‘Well how nice’ instead of fuck you.”

During the chaos of this 100 year pandemic (or so it feels) I chose to pair my flare for creativity with my sarcasm and love of monogramming to spark this new business venture. Straight out of lock down……… Sweet But Sassy was born. My husband & I have owned a successful embroidery, promotional products and uniforming business for the past 10 years. This has been the best springboard to my new business which I’m so passionate about! During the past 10 years I’ve always found ways to use my creativity any chance I could get. Whether it’s to throw an over the top party with the best favors, desserts, cakes and décor or to put personal touches on gifts for birthdays, graduations, end of the year teacher gifts or just making something extra special just that’s what I have done and that’s with Sweet But Sassy is all about.

As a 45 year old shitty wife, full time working business owner, mother of two -  forced in to homeschooling but BEST dog mom ever,  Sweet But Sassy has become an outlet for my creativity and sarcasm, not fully appreciated by my family.
